These new capabilities aims to provide customers with a wider variety of options for in-game betting as the season leads into the NCAA tournament aka March Madness.
With this new technology, the live betting sportsbook will expand its offerings for both pre-game, same game parlay and in-play markets. In addition, the OddsFactory integration will aim to introduce new market types for NCAA basketball in Lightning Bets, which give customers the chance to place quick-fire, in-play bets during games.
Kyle Christensen, PointsBet USA CMO, commented: "PointsBet has become the home of live betting and there is no other sportsbook that can approach the number of live, in-game betting markets we are offering. Our NFL and NBA engagement has been outstanding. We expect the same experience and increased adoption as fans tune into the excitement of March Madness."
Due to differing betting guidelines, not all features will be available in every state. For example, Lightning Bets will face limitations in New York. OddsFactory will also be limited in Virginia, with no Lightning Bets available whereas in Iowa, OddsFactory will not be available at all.
This news follows the announcement in January that PointsBet has become the first US sports betting operator to offer an “always on” service to its customers which was made possible; in part, by PointsBet’s acquisition of the Dublin-based provider of data-driven trading models, Banach Technology.
Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, PointsBet currently stands as the official sports betting partner of NBC sports; it is operational in New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia, New York and Pennsylvania.
