While other operators launching their services primarily focus on online casino or sports betting, Rivalry’s main sector is esports. It also stands out by being one of the only Canadian operators to launch on Ontario’s opening day.
It represents Rivalry’s second regulated market, following the operator’s approval in Australia earlier this year.
Steven Salz, Co-Founder and CEO, Rivalry, commented: “We do things differently at Rivalry. We are aiming to be the sportsbook for the next generation through engaging content and innovative experiences, which entertain and create loyal fans of Rivalry who come back for more.”
888 has launched its 888casino, 888sport and 888poker brands in Ontario, with the Canadian province representing the latest ‘growth market’ for the operator. 888 previously launched in Germany, in 2021.
Itai Pazner, CEO, 888, said: “We are excited to launch in Ontario under a local licence, enabling us to leverage our full suite of data-driven marketing capabilities to build awareness of our differentiated and content-rich products in the province.”
BetMGM, created from a collaboration between MGM Resorts International and Entain, has launched its sports betting and iGaming platform, becoming the operator’s first international market. It has partnered with hockey players Wayne Gretzky and Connor McDavid to promote the launch.
Adam Greenblatt, CEO, BetMGM, said: “Today marks a significant milestone for BetMGM, and a momentous occasion for sports fans and online players in Ontario.
“We’re confident that customers in Canada will enjoy the unique, interactive and world-class experience that only BetMGM can provide.”
The three companies are joined by the likes of theScore, High 5 and BetRivers to launch on the first day of online gambling in Ontario – and many more.
