The deal will see Elys operate a sportsbook at Entitlement Restaurant and Cigar Lounge, located at 29 Upshur Street NW, in Washington DC.

It is anticipated that Elys’ wholly owned subsidiary, USBookmaking, will provide sports wagering and bookmaking services “to manage the sportsbook risk.” Entitlement marks Elys’ fifth sportsbook launched at a restaurant and bar in the US capital.

It also comes only a few days after the company announced a similar sportsbook venture in Washington DC’s prominent Dupont Circle neighbourhood.

“We are looking forward to launching our fifth sportsbook with our latest partners and management team at Entitlement Restaurant and Cigar Lounge in the Petworth district of Washington DC,” said Michele Ciavarella, Elys’ Executive Chairman.

He added: “We believe that adding sports wagering within an exciting environment where patrons can enjoy their favourite food and beverages could bring an entirely new vibe to the establishment and could drive ancillary revenue and foster employment opportunities for small businesses.”

Entitlement is a so-called “neighbourhood restaurant lounge” that serves traditional American food and an assortment of drinks. The venue’s agreement with Elys has an initial term of three years, with two possible two-year extensions.

Ciavarella continued: “Partnering with Entitlement provides further affirmation of the scalability and flexibility of the Elys retail sportsbook solution and is a key driver in our pathway to profitability and development of long-term shareholder value in Elys Game Technology.”
