BCLC to bring PlayNow platform to Saskatchewan
PlayNow.com will become available to more players in Western Canada after the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) officially signed a vendor agreement.
After what SIGA called an “extensive” request for proposal process, BCLC’s PlayNow platform has been selected to provide an iGaming offer for Saskatchewan players.
PlayNow will be customised for the province’s market, and will reflect “many of the popular casino games that Saskatchewan residents are accustomed to seeing at casinos,” as well as single-event sports betting.
The new online gaming portal is expected to launch later this year and will be officially operated by SIGA, per an operating agreement with SaskGaming.
“SIGA is very excited to bring the PlayNow online casino and sports betting experience to Saskatchewan,” said SIGA President and CEO Zane Hansen.
“This online offering will integrate into our existing casino operations and will further enhance the entertainment options for SIGA’s and SaskGaming’s customers.”
The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) and Saskatchewan Government signed an agreement last September, permitting SIGA to bring online gaming to the province.
BCLC, meanwhile, already provides PlayNow.com in British Columbia and Manitoba, where it is the only regulated gambling website offered.
“BCLC is proud to provide its industry-leading PlayNow.com platform to Saskatchewan players, who can soon enjoy the very best in online gambling entertainment,” added Lynda Cavanaugh, BCLC Interim President and CEO.
“Offering a safe and secure online gambling experience that supports positive play, PlayNow.com is the only gambling website in North America and one of few in the world that offers dedicated player-health specialists.”
