Sportradar appoints Eric Conrad in content MD role for North America

Sportradar has appointed Eric Conrad in a newly created position as Managing Director, Strategic Partnerships & Content for North America.In this role, Conrad will continue the work conducted by the US Sports Content and Partnerships (SCP) team and will report directly to Sportradar Chief Commercial Officer Eduard Blonk.

Over the last few years, the SCP has secured partnerships with major sports leagues including the NHA, NBA and MLB.

The company currently employs over 3,000 staff across 20 countries worldwide. 

Conrad will work alongside Sportradar’s media partners to maximise commercial revenue, and will work to establish new, long-term partnerships to drive business expansion and growth.

In a statement regarding the appointment, Blonk said: “Eric joins Sportradar at a time of rapid growth for the North American market.

"Eric has the leadership track record and experience we believe are critical to lead the regional SCP team, including the ability to forge additional partnerships, a strong focus on value creation with the sports fan in the centre and a focus on delivering value to our customers.” 

Conrad joins Sportradar from Univision, where he worked as Executive Vice President, Sports Programming and Acquisitions.

This role saw him successfully expand Univision’s sports rights portfolio, securing deals with organisations including FIFA, UEFA, Concacaf and MLS.

He has worked in previous roles within the ESPN Programming and Acquisitions team, and has held media rights and sponsorship sales positions with both the MLB and the NBA.
