IGT receives gold medal sustainability rating from EcoVadis

International Game Technology (IGT) has been recognised for its sustainability programme by EcoVadis.

The agency awarded IGT a gold medal sustainability rating, positioning IGT in the top 5% of companies worldwide that it has assessed.

EcoVadis evaluates a business’ sustainability performance against specific criteria. Companies are assessed based on 21 benchmarks nested under four categories, or “themes.” These are the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

The agency’s methodology is built on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26000.

In describing its process, EcoVadis states: “We rate performance by assessing a company’s policies, actions and results, as well as inputs from third-party professionals and external stakeholders.”

A gold medal rating is the second highest grade awarded by the agency, after platinum. Consequently, receiving the rating reflects well on IGT.

Wendy Montgomery, the provider’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Sustainability, commented on IGT’s sustainability efforts.

She said: “As a leader in global sustainability for over 15 years, IGT has a thorough understanding of the significant value that sustainable practices provide to our stakeholders, and ESG strategies remain at the forefront of our corporate priorities.

“The sustainability criteria assessed and rated by EcoVadis are embedded into IGT’s culture and daily operations to sustain long-term growth for our business.”

Moreover, Montgomery, on behalf of IGT, was proud to have been awarded a gold medal rating and reiterated the provider’s commitment to sustainability.

“We take great pride in this gold medal achievement and will continue our journey of contributing to a more sustainable future,” she concluded.
