The property features 4K video walls and displays, a cashier stand with four wagering terminals, and strategically located betting kiosks. The sportsbook is powered by Betfred Sportsbook, with whom the We-Ko-Pa Casino has partnered since August 2021.
“We took our time in creating our new sportsbook because we wanted to learn from those that came before us, maximise existing resources, and leverage the latest electronic advancements so we could take our facility to the next level of gaming excellence,” said We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort Table Games Director Kirk Brumbaugh.
The sportsbook is connected to WKP Sports & Entertainment, a full-service sports bar.
Betfred USA Sports Chief Operating Officer Bryan Bennett commented: “We’re excited to increase our presence in Arizona in partnership with the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort and WKP Sportsbook.
“As a team, we set out early to create one of the best game-watching and betting experiences in the state, and we’re confident we’ve accomplished that goal.”
As noted by the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort on social media, former NFL linebacker Lance Briggs was on hand to sign autographs at the grand opening of the sportsbook on 8 September.
It’s the second such partnership for Betfred in just over a week, with Betfred USA Sports and the Lummi Nation partnering to launch a sportsbook at the Silver Reef Casino Resort at the end of August.
The announcement came amid the recent legalisation of sports wagering in the US state of Washington. The Betfred Sportsbook opened for customers on 31 August, with the honorary first bet made by former NFL quarterback Warren Moon.
