Malta Gaming Authority grants gaming licence to edict egaming

Online casino supplier edict egamimg GmbH has been granted a gaming licence from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).

Per the licence, the supplier – which is owned by the Gauselmann Group – is now able to operate its gaming solution in licensed markets within the EU.

The Gauselmann-owned affiliate  edict Malta Limited  has held a licence in Malta for several years, in addition to licences from the Gambling Commission, the Gambling Supervision Commission of the Isle of Man and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. The supplier edict egamimg now joins its sister company with a licence in Malta.

Dominic-Daniel Liénard, CEO of edict egaming GmbH, said: “We are proud to have been granted a further MGA licence and will continue to obtain B2B licences wherever this is possible in regulated markets. We are planning to expand our presence in North America and will soon apply for a licence in Ontario.”

The MGA has been issuing and monitoring gaming licences to land-based and virtual casino operators since 2001, granting companies access to gaming markets in the EU.

The body also issues licences to gaming arcades and betting shops with a registered office in Malta.

Gauselmann says obtaining a licence from the MGA is linked to very high requirements for the licensee, giving online gamers security when looking for a reputable operator and security for operators when looking for a supplier.

Recently, the MGA launched a closed consultation to discuss its proposed player protection amendments.

Licensees have been encouraged to offer feedback regarding the Malta Gaming Authority’s (MGA) suggested changes, which aim to “strengthen and clarify” the country’s current Player Protection Directive.
