According to the Kansas Lottery, five of the six sports betting apps live in Kansas accounted for $1,296,174 in sports betting revenue.

Gambling Insider can also exclusively reveal that Kansas took $160m in handle for its first month as a sports betting state.

Boot Hill Casino’s DraftKings Sportsbook Kansas did not report revenue in September. The Kansas Lottery report states this was due to promotional play and player acquisition.

However, during an upcoming monthly meeting, it’s expected that more data is yet to come from the Kansas State Lottery on sports betting.

Kansas Lottery Executive Director Stephen Durrell said the data made available for September highlights the potential of the Sunflower State now that its sports betting operation is up and running.

Durrell said: “Sports betting has successfully kicked off in Kansas, and players could not be more excited to get in on the action.

“The launch went smoothly thanks to the efforts of our casino partners, the sports wagering platforms, the KRGC, and our staff at the Kansas Lottery. We will continue to work to make sports betting in Kansas safe, secure, and fun for all players as we expand and grow.”

In Kansas Lottery’s report, Penn Entertainment was the biggest winner from the opening month of wagering in the state, taking double the revenue of Kansas' four casinos.

The Penn-owned Barstool Sportsbook Kansas raked in $762,305 in wagering for September through its partnership with Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway.

BetKansas Gaming Analyst Dru James added: "Kansas is off to an explosive start in the sports betting market. Proportioned to population size, the Sunflower state is doing well compared to other recent launches Arizona generated $392,418 in revenue its first month despite being 83% more populated."
