The controlled demonstration period on 21-22 November will lead to the full launch of sports betting in the US state on 23 November – which has become the latest in a long line of US states to open up, following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn PASPA in 2018.

In honour of the launch, BetRivers are offering bettors an introductory offer for those that sign up early – which will see bettors offered a first-time deposit offer where bettors will get a second chance bet, up to $500, on their first bet if it loses.

Richard Schwartz, CEO of RSI, said of the launch: "The much-anticipated launch of online and mobile sports betting in Maryland is here, and just in time for all the NFL and College football action over the Thanksgiving. We are thrilled to give Maryland's NFL and college football fans an exciting sports betting experience to enjoy all the holiday action at the touch of their fingertips.

“In addition to football, BetRivers offers them endless entertainment with countless other sports and betting options available for their pleasure, including exciting single game parlays on the NBA and college basketball and bets on the World Cup."

BetRivers are offering fans all kinds of competitions to bet on, and the launch comes shortly after the start of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar – which finds the USA pitted in a group with Iran, Wales and England.
