Scout Gaming Group enters into agreement with Cartola

The deal involves the delivery of the group’s products for fantasy sports to Cartola, which is owned by DFS Entretenimento Ltda. Cartola solely focuses on daily fantasy and fantasy sports, with the product expected to launch during the first quarter of 2023.

“To get the opportunity to deliver all of our Daily Fantasy (DFS) and Fantasy Sports (FS) products to a new partner on the Brazilian market who is changing supplier to SGG feels very positive,” said SGG Acting CEO Niklas Jönsson.

“We are looking forward to the coming cooperation.”

Headquartered in Sigtuna, Sweden, SGG is a licensed and regulated provider of B2B and B2C daily fantasy sports and sports betting. The group has development and operations in Bergen, Norway and Lviv, Ukraine.

According to SGG, “the company offers a flexible and customisable network-based platform with support for most sports and leagues through an in-house StatCentre which also provides real-time information to players.”

In October 2022, SGG entered a partnership agreement with Apple iSports, an Australian gaming company. The former will deliver fantasy sports and sportsbook products to the latter as part of the agreement.

Although it is an Australian company, Apple iSports also has a sports betting licence in the US state of North Dakota. SGG’s products will be launched in both Australia and North Dakota during the first quarter of 2023.

And in August 2022, SGG announced that its revenue fell by 69% for Q2, a widening year-on-year decrease when compared to the first quarter.

In total, the company generated SEK 4.3m ($407,856) in second quarter revenue, less than half of what the group produced for both the prior-year period and previous quarter, when it recorded SEK 13.9m and SEK 12m respectively.
