A toolkit and analytics dashboard have been made available by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). The helpline provides a convenient access point to a network of local options for anyone looking for assistance with a gambling issue.

The confidential helpline is free and open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be accessed through the easy to remember number 1-800-GAMBLER.

The toolkit is designed to help align messaging between healthcare providers, media, state agencies, gambling operators and other organisations promoting the project.

Furthermore, an analytics dashboard for the NCPG has also been introduced. The dashboard is a free service with the purpose giving visibility and understanding into the patterns and trends of inbound calls to the helpline. Users can filter the data in the dashboard by date, state or contact method using interactive graphs and charts.

Keith Whyte, Executive Director of the NCPG, said: "We are thrilled to release these resources for the National Problem Gambling Helpline. Our research indicates only 45% of Americans would know where to get help for someone with a gambling problem. We hope this toolkit will make it easier for organisations to raise awareness of the Helpline and connect people with the resources they need."

The toolkit and dashboard are a part of NCPG's ongoing Helpline Modernisation Project.

Earlier this month, the NCPG announced its 2023 Spring Agility Grant Recipients. Five charities will receive a combined $193,000 in funding to promote problem gambling prevention initiatives.
