Fox Poker Club shuts down

London’s Fox Poker Club has closed.

A statement on the Shaftesbury Avenue venue’s website and Facebook page on Monday 10th December confirmed that it was to “cease operation”.

The Club, London’s only dedicated poker venue, was acquired by operators Genting Casinos in November 2011.

It had been founded by Chris North and Ian Hogg in 2005 and opened in 2010, having received a full UK Casino licence in 2008.

The full Fox Poker Club statement read: “It is with regret that Genting UK plc today announces that the Fox Poker Club will cease operation.

The Management and Staff of Fox Poker Club would like to thank all of its customers for supporting the venture over the past two years. Further information will be released shortly.”
