BetStop, Australia’s National Self-Exclusion Register, reported that by the end of the third quarter of the 2024–2025 fiscal year, a total of 40,121 individuals had registered for self-exclusion from all licensed online and phone wagering providers.

As of 31 March 2025, 27,763 of these exclusions remained active, indicating that 12,358 individuals had either completed their self-exclusion period or opted to cancel their exclusion prematurely.

The quarterly breakdown of new registrations showed a declining trend. In the first quarter of 2024 – 2025, there were 4,521 new registrants, which marked an 11.1% decrease compared to the previous quarter and a significant 39.7% drop from the same quarter in the prior year.

This downward trend continued into the second and third quarters, with 5,178 and 4,450 new registrations, respectively.

The distribution of registrants varied across Australian states and territories. New South Wales recorded the highest number of total registrations at 12,531, followed by Victoria with 10,800 and Queensland with 8,125.

In contrast, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory reported the lowest figures, with 607 and 325 registrations, respectively.

The data also showed that 46% of registrants were aged 30 and under, while 32% of registrants were aged 31-40.
