Macau: Casino Grandview to cease operations on 30 July, confirms SJM

Key points:

– Casino Grandview to close at 23:59pm on 30 July 2025

– Gaming tables will be moved to other SJM casinos

– Local employees to be retained or prioritised for vacancies

SJM Resorts, a subsidiary of SJM Holdings Limited, has announced that Casino Grandview in Macau will officially cease operations on 30 July 2025.

The closure, which is taking place ahead of schedule, forms part of the company’s broader business planning and operational strategy.

In a statement, SJM confirmed that all gaming tables currently at Casino Grandview will be redeployed to its other casinos. Customers with outstanding chips, deposits or cash rebates linked to Grandview will be able to redeem these at Casino Casa Real starting from 31 July.

The company stated that it would retain all local staff directly employed by SJM and reassign them to other locations within its casino network. For employees working at Casino Grandview who are not directly employed by SJM, the company will prioritise them for available positions and offer support where applicable to ease the transition.

Good to know: The Gaming Law, amended in 2022, sets out compliance expectations for all operators in Macau and SJM has reiterated its alignment with government objectives for a healthy and sustainable gaming sector

SJM also pledged to manage the closure in full compliance with legal requirements and to ensure an orderly wind-down process.

The company emphasised its ongoing commitment to the development and stability of Macau’s gaming industry, as well as its responsibilities to the local workforce and community.
