As reported by Wen Wei Po, the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) is leading preparations for the equestrian events at the 2025 National Games, co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.
With just 100 days until the Games, the HKJC’s Conghua Racecourse in Guangzhou has become a critical hub for training, logistics and health support.
To ensure the health and safety of all equine athletes, the HKJC will provide on-site veterinary care through a mobile clinic at the competition venue. The clinic will be staffed by a team of Hong Kong-licensed vets and feature imported medicines and equipment. HKJC farriers will also be present to provide custom hoof care, backed by a formal apprenticeship programme aimed at nurturing local expertise.
In addition, the HKJC has supported the equestrian segment’s anti-doping measures and lent equipment required for both medical and competition use. Their experts have been involved in venue design and planning since the early stages, contributing both manpower and funding.

A purpose-built one-kilometre mountain trail offers graded resistance training for horses, with specially selected turf to ensure consistent footing and reduce injury risk.
This edition of the National Games marks the first time the event is jointly hosted by the Greater Bay Area cities.
