ury Casinos has announced that it has submitted a license application for a casino at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club, Bermuda jointly with the company, which owns the property.

Century Casino is looking to become the first fully operating casino in Bermuda following the 2014 Casino Gambling Act. The Bermuda Casino Gaming commission had legalized the start for operators to apply for license but the journey to get one has been long.

The Hamilton Princess was the first to gain a ‘designated site order’. This means that the property can apply for a casino license, a process which began in April 2017. A hearing has now been set up with Century Casinos, who look to operate the casino out of the Hotel Hamilton.

The hearing for the approval of a casino license will take place on the 22 September this year. Currently this is the only application of its kind in the country giving Century Casinos the unique opportunity of operating Bermuda’s first casino.

Century Casinos already operate in the Caribbean as well as owning several ventures on cruise ships and other vessels. Their expertise also spans land-based operations with casinos all over the world.

The casino itself is approximately 12,000 square feet of gaming space and will feature 17 gaming tables, 200 slot machines and an automated roulette machine, according to the company’s latest press release.
