Jersey’s online casinos have reported a 26% year-on-year increase in revenue for the month of September but this total is lower than the previous month, according to figures released by the New Jersey Division of gaming enforcement.

The state’s regulated online casinos generated $20.4m in September, dropping from the $21.3m reported in August. During the 30 days of September online casinos in the state generated $657,799 per day.

In the nine months of January-September, New Jersey's online casinos have generated $183.7 million in gross revenue, putting the states online casinos on track to achieve $250m dollars in gross revenue this year, surpassing the $196.7 million that the industry generated in 2016.

Steve Ruddock, Lead Analyst for PlayNJ, a site which covers the New Jersey online casino industry stated: "Online gambling now accounts for some 10 percent of all casino revenue generated by Atlantic City casinos, which is a staggering total for such a young industry,"

"The bottom line is that legal online gambling has become an incredibly competitive market with many winners, and that has undoubtedly been a boon for New Jersey."

New Jersey’s seven land based casinos generated $235.8m during September, rising 4.1% year-on-year from the total for the same period of 2016.

The Golden Nugget casino received $24.6m in September, increasing by 14.1% from the total recorded during the same period of 2016, while the Tropicana casino generated $33.2m jumping 13.7% in the month.

Borgata and Harrah’s also reported rises in revenue, increasing by 9.6% and 8.1% respectively.

Bringing up the rear were Resorts World, Bally’s and Caesars with year-on-year increases of 5.4%, 1.7% and 0.1% during the 30 days of September.
