The company owned by the Turkish Football Federation Chairman, Yildirim Demiroren, has put in the highest bid to operate the country’s sole betting company, Iddaa.

According to NTV, Demiroren Holding has teamed up with supplier Scientific Games (forming the subsidiary Sans Girisim) to make the best offer of taking a 0.2% share of revenues.

Demiroren Holding is owned by the current chairman of the Turkish Football Federation and owns the vast majority of media outlets across Turkey.

The other main bidder was the Inteltek joint venture between Intralot and Turkish mobile phone operator Turkcell, which offered to take 0.5% commission.

All other betting and gambling platforms apart from Iddaa are currently prohibited within Turkey.

This was the second round of the tender, with the final decision on the outcome being given later this week.
