SWAT team raids illegal gambling location in Long Beach; 40 arrested

Police were issued with warrants for an illegal gambling location in Long Beach, California, detaining 40 people in the process.

arrested

The Long Beach Police Department had received several reports of suspicious activity and decided to raid the property.

The police were assisted by a SWAT team, with the raid taking place around 3:30am on Wednesday in a block on Pacific Avenue.

Police officers removed gaming machines from the premises but authorities are yet to confirm exactly what was taken from the location.

The raid follows an operation that took place last week at a store near Anaheim Street in Long Beach, where police arrested a total of eight people, as well as confiscating $12,000 in cash and two firearms.

Investigations remain ongoing to see if there is any link between the two locations.
