Jason Koon joins GGPoker as global ambassador
By Gambling Insider

Koon will join the ranks of the company’s other ambassadors like Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Dan Bilzerian and Fedor Holz in representing the GGPoker brand.

“I’m really excited to join GGPoker, particularly so soon after they’ve taken a leading role in the poker world,” said Koon.

“I’m also thrilled to be in a position to help with game security and player advocacy, making GGPoker an even better place to play our favorite game.”

Hailing from West Virginia, Koon is a well-known personality on the international poker scene and boasts $32m in live tournament winnings, including multiple high roller victories, a figure that earns him a spot in the top 10 list of all time winnings.

According to the company, his focus as an ambassador will be on strengthening the poker room’s security and game integrity efforts, as well as acting as an advocate for high roller, VIP and high-volume players.

John Scanlon, the Director of Sponsorships & Live Events at GGPoker, said: “We view ambassadors as part of our overall team. We want them as bought into keeping GGPoker the number one site in the world as we are.”

“Jason’s reputation and how he handles himself personally and professionally makes him an ideal global ambassador. Having a player of his calibre providing advice and direction, and representing the most committed segment of our player community, is invaluable for us.”

GGPoker bills itself as one of the world’s leading online poker rooms, hosting both the online and in-person main events for the World Series of Poker in 2020 and the online event in 2021.

In July, the brand entered the Belgian market with its regulated ggpoker.be site, giving players in the country a chance to win a WSOP gold bracelet.
