AstroPay debuts customisable payment solution
By Gambling Insider

An API is a software tool that allows two applications to talk to each other, which — in a payments context — makes it easier for ecommerce businesses to manage transactions.

According to AstroPay, its customisable API “adapts to the merchant’s requirements for security and velocity” to offer “their customers a variety of local payment methods”.

API integration also provides “residual” benefits, with the tech firm stating that its API is simple to use, whether an individual has an AstroPay account or not.

“Merchants want to offer customers the best experience possible with the ability to process withdrawals easily,” said AstroPay CEO Mikael Lijtenstein.

“Our withdrawal solution removes any friction without compromising on user experience. The API is designed to adjust to any workflow and security checks the merchant has to undergo — it is highly flexible, reliable and easy to adopt.”

Two options are currently available to integrate AstroPay’s API. The merchant may want to achieve a closed loop, which means they send the funds to the same user who deposited on the site.

Alternatively, the merchant may opt for a cash out method for all users, which means they can transfer the money from the merchant into their digital wallets.

AstroPay is an online payment service with more than 200 payment methods, including Google Pay, Visa and Mastercard. It was founded in 2009 and has longstanding relationships with various organisations. Most recently, AstroPay strengthened its partnership with Burnley FC.
