BetRivers to sponsor US National Jai-Alai Championship
By Gambling Insider

The tournament will host singles and doubles matches, attracting over 60 of the best jai-alai players from across the US, with more than $25,000 in prize money up for grabs.

Magic City Jai-Alai COO Scott Savin said: "This is one of my favourite events of the year, to see participants from all over the country compete in this high-stakes championship.

"I'm especially excited to see the thrilling matchup against defending doubles team champions known courtside as Douglas and Benny and opposing doubles brother team, Goixerri and Aratz.”

The tournament will begin with amateur participants in the Masters division on 19 August, with the Professionals division the following day. Finals for both categories will take place on 20 August.

The sport has worked to expand its range and impact across the US, brokering distribution and rights agreements that have seen it reach over 200 million US households.

Live action from the three-day tournament will be streamed from the Magic City glass-walled court on the Watch Jai-Alai website.

The tournament has been sponsored by Rush Street Interactive-owned BetRivers, which became the official sports betting partner of Magic City Jai-Alai in 2021.

Rush Street recently published its Q2 financial results, reporting a net loss of $28.3m, compared to the net loss of $52.3m in Q1.

Revenue for the quarter rose by 17% year-on-year, amounting to $143.7m. However, this total was offset by advertising and promotions expenses swelling by 20%.
