NetEnt boosted operating profit by over 50% in 2015
By David Cook
ncreased operating profit of 54% to SEK 401.6m (£33.2m) was one of the highlights reported in NetEnt’s financials for 2015.

The provider's profit after tax went up 54% to SEK 374m and revenues ascended 33% to SEK 1.13bn.

In the fourth quarter, operating profit rose 52% to SEK 121.8m and operating margin was 38%.

Revenues improved year-on-year for NetEnt in all four quarters, with Q4’s total being SEK 323.1m, up year-on-year from SEK 241.1m.

A significant moment of the year for NetEnt was its launch in New Jersey when Borgata’s online casino began using its products in September, after NetEnt was granted a transactional waiver by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to operate in the state.

NetEnt holds licence agreements with all licensed real-money online casinos in New Jersey and PokerStars’ New Jersey offering may include casino games provided by NetEnt.

It was announced in May that a selection of NetEnt’s portfolio was available with Stars’ casino games.

Amaya, owner of Stars, expects it to be operational in the state in the first half of this year, and Bjorn Krantz, managing director of NetEnt Americas, told Gambling Insider in an exclusive interview about its intention to extend its partnership with Stars.

He said: “We would very much welcome an extension of the partnership with PokerStars, but we need to sit down and discuss what both parties want.”

Krantz’ interview was featured in Issue 33 of Gambling Insider. Click here to view the magazine online and here to sign up for a free print subscription.
