Passport Technology receives DataStream connector acquirer green light in Canada
By Gambling Insider

Launched in the US in 2003, DataStream is a bank-sponsored, proprietary ATM processor that offers ATM, POS, and value-add transaction processing for retail and gaming clients.

Passport SVP of Platform Operations Kent Cain said: "Passport is incredibly proud to enable the Interac Cash service.

"We believe introducing our fully integrated cloud-based ATM processing platform is a significant technological milestone in Canada which will greatly serve participants of the Interac network and their debit cardholder-base.

“With almost two decades of ATM processing experience in the US supporting thousands of ATMs, the DataStream platform is well prepared for a seamless expansion to Canada."

DataStream implemented a cloud-based processing architecture in 2020, offering clients improved reliability, automated redundancies, uptime, and processing security.

Passport CRO Jason King said: "Enabling the Interac Cash service is a privilege, and as an integral part of Canada's financial system, Passport values this relationship and significant achievement.

"DataStream allows Passport to provide end-to-end ATM processing and analytics to our Canadian casino customers in addition to our industry-leading quasi-cash and loyalty solutions."

In June, Passport launched a new loyalty and rewards system at the Cahuilla Casino Hotel.

The Lush loyalty platform provides customisable games, promotions and offers, with operators able to optimise branding, multipliers and specifiable promotions via the dedicated Lush app.

Additionally, Passport committed to installing kiosks at the Cahuilla, where players can access features including “club enrolment, card reprints, dynamic games and offers.”
