Paysafe hires Alex Gersh from Sportradar as its new CFO
By Matthew Nicholson

Previously the CFO of Sportradar, Gersh brings 25 years of experience – including as the CFO of Paddy Power Betfair (now Flutter Entertainment) – as well as multiple other roles within the gambling sector.

Paysafe CEO, Bruce Lowthers, said of Gersh’s appointment: “Alex is a highly talented finance executive with a proven track record of driving growth for the international companies he has helped to lead. I know he will be a real asset to our team as we continue our path to accelerate growth and drive long term value for all our stakeholders.”

Meanwhile, Gersh himself commented on his latest role: “Paysafe has a highly diversified and relevant digital payments offering in the specialised industries it focuses on including gaming and entertainment. I have been fortunate to have worked for some of the biggest brands in these sectors, and I very much look forward to bringing my knowledge and insights to my new role at Paysafe and being part of this ambitious company’s future growth story.”

Gersh replaces outgoing Paysafe CFO, Izzy Dawood, who will leave the company in the coming weeks.

In Gersh’s hiring announcement, Lowthers praised Dawood for his contribution to the business, stating: “I would like to express our sincere thanks to Izzy for his significant contribution to Paysafe during his time with the company and his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities."

When Sportradar delivered its Q2 results earlier this month, the company simultaneously announced Gersh’s decision to step down as CFO for an unnamed US company – a move which has revealed itself with Gersh now officially joining Paysafe.
