By Louis Thompsett

With a three-decade career in the gaming industry, Konami hopes Crosby’s promotion will help drive product performance and advancements across global markets.

Crosby has held roles in games research and development, as well as hardware and software engineering, product strategy and business operations management.

He has been the leading researcher and developer at Konami Australia since 2001, delivering products across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and South Africa.

Crosby is now responsible for leading the company’s global games research and development, including its vision, conceptualisation, strategy and execution.

Konami President and CEO Steve Sutherland said: “Gerard Crosby has been with the Konami organisation for 23 years, leading with a demonstrated commitment to product quality and driving results for casinos across diverse market segments.

“Through Gerard’s expanded leadership and ongoing collaboration between Konami’s research and development teams in the United States, Australia, and Japan, we anticipate expanding game product outcomes for our casino customers worldwide.”

Alongside his new role, Crosby will remain Konami Australia’s General Manager of Product Development, Director, Office Holder and Secretary.

He is also on the Board of Directors for the Australia-based not-for-profit Gaming Technologies Association, where he chairs the association’s Technical Committee.

Earlier this month, Konami saw gaming revenue rise by 22% in its Q2 2022 results.

The company’s casino facilities across North America and Australia returned to pre-Covid operating levels, partially offsetting other regions under restrictions.

In addition, Q2 saw the company enter New York State’s video lottery terminal market.
