NOGA launches ‘Warm your club’ campaign
By Louis Thompsett

This initiative lets sports clubs in the Netherlands apply for a one-off contribution of €5,000 ($5,269) to help fund their facilities amid the rising cost of energy.

NOGA says its initiative is borne out of the increased financial difficulty Dutch sports clubs face to warm their facilities and keep operations running.

The authority adds that a growing number of clubs are having their showers turned off, changing rooms closed and some are even threatened with bankruptcy.

To be eligible for a NOGA grant, sports clubs and associations must be recognised by Dutch sports coordinator NOC*NSF.

Sporting groups must also submit an application, including a motivation for participation. Clubs and associations can also only submit one application, with registrations open from 2 December to 7 December 2022.

Up to 30 allowances of €5,000 will be awarded by NOGA and will only be allocated after substantive tests are undertaken with the applicant.

All applications will also be independently assessed and any sports association whose application is approved will receive an email before Thursday 8 December 2022.

Earlier this year, NOGA welcomed LiveScore Bet to its ranks.

After the announcement of the deal, Peter-Paul de Goeij, Managing Director of NOGA, said: "We are pleased that LiveScore Bet, as one of the early licensees in the Netherlands, has opted to join NOGA.

“LiveScore Bet is a very reputable operator in our industry, putting a safe and secure betting experience at the heart of their operation.”
