Genius Sports and SoftConstruct end legal dispute with new partnership
By Matthew Nicholson

The licence will acknowledge Genius’ ownership of database rights, while SoftConstruct will deliver the data through its BetConstruct and FeedConstruct channels.

Jack Davison, Genius Sports’ CCO, said of the settlement: “Genius invests significant time, resource, and expertise in creating and developing technology and databases; to collect and supply sports data products across the industry.

“We are delighted that the SoftContruct team have recognised this value, and we look forward to working in partnership with them as we move forward.”

Meanwhile, SoftConstruct CEO Armand Pinarbasi added: “This deal enables us to service our customers with the best data. We can now look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship in the years to come.”

Recently, Genius Sports and partner Football DataCo (FDC) also resolved a litigation dispute with Sportradar, which enabled FDC to continue to license and market FDC data as it determines in the future.

Furthermore, Genius Sports shall maintain the exclusive right to provide low-latency official FDC betting data until 2024.

In other news, BetConstruct has this week been approved by the Malta Gaming Authority to start accepting player deposits using cryptocurrencies, virtual financial assets as referred to under the Maltese legislation.

The supplier's white-label partners, including Vbet.net, who operate under Vivaro Limited, allow their players to deposit using cryptocurrencies. This, in turn, allows them to target players who use cryptocurrencies to bet with.
