Achariya Ruangrattanapong accused senior police personnel of being involved inthe illegal online gambling industry. He was, however, told by the authorities to refrain from attaching his poster to the main police station.

Achariya claimed his banner inside the Patumwam district police compound had the names of 16 of the 100 police officials he intended to expose.

According to his claims, a formal national police head oversaw over 70% of the gambling websites operating in Thailand through many police lieutenant generals. According to Archariya, several of the websites were run by Chinese citizens.

Additionally, he said a football team comprised police officers and others who ran gambling websites and that the club was used to launder money from gambling.

Chuvit Kamolvisit, a whistleblower, also claimed that senior police personnel were participating in gambling networks and Achariya’s allegations come in the wake of those findings.

Meanwhile, a police station head in the province of Chon Buri was moved to an inactive position last week, pending an inquiry into his potential financial ties to the gambling website Saipay69.

In total, 15 people were detained by Macau's Judicial Police in January on suspicion of running illicit gambling businesses.

The suspected syndicate, according to authorities, has allegedly been operating since 2017, generating CNY 18.5bn (US$2.75bn) in wagers throughout the five or more years it has been able to operate illegally.
