BetMGM partners with Revolutionary Racing Kentucky ahead of sports betting launch
By Gambling Insider

BetMGM has signed a new market access agreement with Revolutionary Racing Kentucky (RRKY), which would allow BetMGM to launch a retail sportsbook at Sandy’s Racing & Gaming venue, once legalised sports betting passes in the state.

The 5,200 square-foot BetMGM Sportsbook, estimated to have cost $75m, is anticipated to launch at the RRKY venue as early as this autumn, with the preliminary date for Kentucky retail sports betting set for 7 September 2023.

Regulators also announced that online sports betting would follow not long afterward, with operators expected to launch online sportsbooks on 28 September.

Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM CEO, said: "Kentucky has a rich history in sports and a passionate fan base.

"Revolutionary Racing is an ideal partner, enabling us to deliver an entertaining and responsible gaming experience, while investing in the state through job creation and tax revenue."

Alongside the sportsbook, Kentucky's first quarter horse racetrack and equestrian centre would be set on 182 acres and directly adjacent to Sandy’s Racing & Gaming.

The first races are expected to open for the public here by 2025.

Prentice Salter, Revolutionary Racing CEO, said: “We promised to bring a world-class facility to Ashland and wanted a world-class partner for online sports wagering across the Commonwealth and at our sportsbook lounge.

"We've got that with BetMGM."

BetMGM isn't the only major operator to sign with Kentucky companies ahead of the sports betting launch, with Caesars Sportsbook partnering with Keeneland and Red Mile.
