Play’n Go joins The Climate Pledge
By Gambling Insider

Supplier Play’n Go has signed The Climate Pledge alongside over 400 other companies.

The initiative, co-founded in 2019 by Global Optimism and Amazon, has been signed by at least 433 companies across 38 different countries.

As a signatory, Play’n Go pledges to measure and report its greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis, implement decarbonisation strategies in line with the Paris Agreement, and make credible attempts to offset any remaining emissions.

Vanessa Arenram, Play’n Go Director of CSR, said: “Sustainability is so important to all of us here at Play’n Go and we’re delighted to take this opportunity to sign up for The Climate Pledge.

“We all have to play our part to lower our carbon footprint to ensure a bright future for the generations to come and this ambitious agreement will see us operating at net-zero within the next 20 years.

“We’re excited to make this commitment today and look forward to all of our people around the world coming together to make these goals a reality.”

The Climate Pledge asks signatories to commit to net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, which is a full decade ahead of the Paris Agreement goal of 2050.

However, Play’n Go has stated that it intends to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

Play’n Go will join a host of other signatories already on board with the pledge, including Amazon, Verizon, Mercedes-Benz, Siemens and Uber.

In other company news, Play’n Go announced a partnership with Växjö Lakers to continue its decade-long support of the ice hockey team.
