Ruth Prior named William Hill CFO

British bookmaker William Hill has announced the appointment of Ruth Prior to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Ruth Prior named William Hill CFO

She will join the operator later this year from Worldpay, where she currently works as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CFO.

Prior has significant experience in finance, having previously worked as CFO at EMI Group and as Finance Director at private equity company Terra Firma Capital Partners, and will need to leverage that know-how as Hills looks to improve on challenging recent fortunes.

Commenting on her appointment, Prior said: “I am excited to be joining William Hill at a time when there are clear opportunities both to grow the business inside the UK and to expand our position on the international stage.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team to deliver the digital expertise, operational efficiencies and technology platform that will underpin the group’s further growth.”

Philip Bowcock, recently appointed to the position of CEO on a permanent basis, added that Prior’s experience in digital operations and online payments “is all highly relevant to our strategic priorities to deliver an even better customer experience and faster growth”.
