Bet365 owners ranked 19th richest in the UK

Bet365’s owners, Denise, John and Peter Coates, have made it into the top 20 of the Sunday Times UK richlist.

The Coates family, which owns 93% of Bet365, occupy 19th spot, worth a total of £6.856bn ($8.9bn). This has risen by £1.1bn since last year, and sees them move up two places. 

According to The Sunday Times, the Bet365 owners were Britain’s second-highest taxpayers in 2018, with their tax bill reaching £156m for 2017-18.

Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay, who own the Ritz Hotel Casino, came 17th, rising £600m to be worth a grand total of £8bn.

For the third time, Sri and Gopi Hinduja and family have been named the UK’s wealthiest people, worth £22bn. The Hinduja Group, founded in Mumbai in 1914, has interests around the world, including  oil and gas, banking, IT and property.
