PGCB hands out $8,000 fine and bans couple from entering Pennsylvania casinos
Pennsylvania’s gaming watchdog has undertaken another round of regulatory action, including a fine and two exclusions.
The Keystone State’s gambling regulator, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), has approved a consent agreement that resulted in an $8,000 fine for No House Advantage, a fantasy sports website.
The agreement in question was the result of negotiations between the Office of Enforcement Counsel and No House, or more specifically, the website’s operator, NHA PA.
According to the PGCB, the company had failed to notify it of a change of control in its ownership structure that occurred in late 2021. However, this new organisational structure has since been approved.
The PGCB also took action against two adults accused of leaving two children, aged one and six, in a hotel room while they gambled in the adjoining casino.
The couple – a mother and her boyfriend – left the children unattended for nearly an hour, said the PGCB, and were later charged by the Pennsylvania State Police.
Both adults have also been added to Pennsylvania’s involuntary exclusion list, preventing them from accessing casinos in the Keystone State.
“In making these decisions regarding these adults, the board reminds the gambling public that adults are prohibited from leaving minors unattended in the parking lot or garage, a hotel or other venue at a casino since it creates a potentially unsafe and dangerous environment for the children,” the PGCB stated.
“Leaving minors unattended at a Pennsylvania casino subjects the offending adult to criminal prosecution in addition to permanent exclusion from all Pennsylvania casinos.”
