IDnow check approved by German regulator for age verification
IDnow, an identity verification platform provider in Europe, has seen its AI-based solution, IDCheck.io, receive approval for age verification from the German Commission for the Protection of Minors in the Media (KJM).
The KJM confirmed that IDCheck.io aligns with the youth protection treaty in Germany. This accolade adds IDCheck.io to the roster of IDnow solutions – including VideoIdent, AutoIdent, IDnow eID and the IDnow Wallet – that have been approved by the KJM for age verification.
The significance of this approval lies in the solution’s compliance with the German Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors in the Media. This treaty mandates that certain content – such as explicit video games, gambling offers or adult-oriented materials – can only be distributed online if providers implement effective age verification systems.
