New York's mobile sports betting market remains robust – with December's handle rising year-on-year and handle figures for the fiscal year 2024/2025 so far reaching $17.05bn.
Key points:
– New York’s fiscal year to date mobile sports wagering handle reached $17.05bn

The New York State Gaming Commission has released its latest report detailing the performance of the mobile sports wagering sector for the fiscal year to date (FYTD) 2024/2025, which runs from April 2024 to March 2025.
The data reveals a total handle of $17.05bn for the fiscal year so far, generating $1.55bn in gross gaming revenue (GGR) – with $790.4m directed to education initiatives during this period. Further, this brings the full year 2024 handle figure up to $22.6bn.
The previous fiscal year 2023/2024 saw a total handle of $19.64bn, producing $1.76bn in GGR and contributing $898.5m to education. However, with three month’s worth of results still to come for 2024/2205 – the final month of which is March Madness – it is likely that New York will surpass it’s previous recorded fiscal year handle.
Good to know: 2023/2024 marked significant growth from fiscal year 2022/2023, which recorded a handle of $16.40bn and GGR of $1.46bn

These educational funds include specific allocations for problem gambling education and treatment ($6m) and youth sports activities ($5m).
