Veikkaus: Fennica Gaming introduces new studio, Board of Directors undergoes changes
The company has reported a few changes as it prepares to enter a period without exclusive rights to online betting and digital casino games in Finland.
Key points:
– Fennica Gaming, a B2B subsidiary of Veikkaus, will integrate another studio into its business
– This will include 200+ games and 50 gaming staff
– Two members of the Veikkaus Board of Directors are also stepping down
Veikkaus has delivered two updates regarding its business, one relating to one of its B2B division and another concerning its Board of Directors.
Fennica Gaming
Fennica Gaming, the Veikkaus subsidiary, was first established in 2022 and debuted its online casino portfolio at the very end of last year.
In a recent statement, Fennica will integrate “a renowned Finnish game studio” into its business, along with over 200 game IPs and 50 staff.
Jonas Reuter, Chairman of the Fennica Gaming Board of Directors, said: “This integration of a renowned game studio is a strategic move to meet the increasing demand for localised content.
“We are now merging a fantastic heritage of creating localised content across different gaming verticals, which has dominated the market share in Finland. This positions us for international success and strengthens our ability to deliver tailored gaming experiences to diverse markets.
“This move is also a continuum of the work initiated with our new advisor to the Board of Directors, Mr. Simon Hammon, further solidifying our commitment to excellence and innovation.”
The current portfolio of Fennica Gaming titles includes Fruttis 2, Portal Heros, Alkemia, Chirp Amore and Wobbyblobs.
Timo Kiiskinen, Fennica Gaming Managing Director, said: “This opens up even better opportunities for Fennica’s organic growth and long-term development.
“With this change, we incorporate over 200 game IP’s and we grow from 20 to 70 Fennicans, maximising the value for all customers across all markets on three continents where our games are currently live.
“This expansion is a genuine possibility to create great games in our Gaming Universe and to meet the diverse needs of different players in various markets better than ever before. This also enables us to meet various regulatory requirements and become an even better business partner internationally.”

During the Veikkaus Annual General Meeting, Anne Larilahti, Juha Väre and Christian Cedercreutz explained that they would be stepping down from the Board of Directors.
