Waterhouse VC backs Maincard in bid to simplify online betting site launches

Key points:

– Waterhouse VC has secured an investment option in Maincard, a platform promising to launch fully compliant betting sites in under 30 minutes

– The company aims to eliminate technical and regulatory barriers that traditionally slow down entry to the iGaming market

– The platform includes integrated compliance, payments and 15,000+ games out of the box

Waterhouse VC has announced the acquisition of an investment option in Maincard, a platform aiming to simplify and accelerate the launch of licensed online betting sites.

Branded as the “Shopify of Online Betting,” Maincard targets a tech-savvy, crypto-native audience and intends to streamline the traditionally complex iGaming setup process into a fully operational platform in under 30 minutes.

This development is part of Waterhouse VC’s ongoing strategy to back B2B technology providers in the gaming sector.

Commenting on the announcement, Tom Waterhouse, Chief Investment Officer of Waterhouse VC, stated: “iGaming still suffers from high startup costs and significant technical and regulatory friction.

“We’re seeing strong potential in platforms that can streamline development, similar to how Shopify revolutionised e-commerce.

“The sector is ripe for innovation that allows new entrants to focus on player acquisition and retention rather than backend development.”

Good to know: Maincard is currently raising $3m to expand its sales team and activate multiple brands from its waiting list by the end of Q3 2025

Valerii Makovetskii, Founder and CEO of Maincard, added: “Waterhouse VC’s deep domain knowledge and network will accelerate our go-to-market.

“We’ve developed strong technical foundations with our crypto-friendly payments gateway already powering third-party casinos. The next step is to make launching a betting site as easy as launching an online storefront.”

Maincard’s offering includes out-of-the-box access to over 15,000 casino games and more than 1,000 sportsbook markets.

It also provides integrated support for licensing, KYC/AML, fraud detection, payment processing, customer support and marketing.
