Horizons Casino reopens in Leicester Square following major refurbishment

Key points:

– Horizons Casino has reopened following a significant refurbishment of its Leicester Square premises

– Updates include a new 65-seat terrace and the addition of Anatolian dining partner Skewd

– The venue has operated from the Queen’s House for over 35 years

Horizons Casino has reopened at 1 Leicester Square following a full renovation of its premises inside the Queen’s House.

The works included a redesign of the gaming floor, new lighting technology and the introduction of a pavement terrace for the first time in the venue’s history.

The updated space includes a mix of gaming and hospitality features, with a newly installed plasma lighting system that shifts colour and tone throughout the day to reflect ambient conditions.

The venue also incorporates dark wood finishes and redesigned gaming equipment across the floor.

Good to know: Horizons Casino first opened over 35 years ago and is among the longest-standing gaming venues in London’s West End

A new 65-seat pavement terrace will now be home to Skewd at Horizons, an open fire Anatolian cuisine concept by Chef Maz Demir. The refurbishment also includes a private dining space for up to 12 guests and expanded corporate entertainment options.

Jeremy Cummins, Director of Horizons, commented: “Leicester Square has always been synonymous with entertainment excellence and our refurbished venue reinforces that reputation. We’ve created an environment that respects the serious nature of gaming while providing the comfort and service that today’s players expect.”

The reopening follows other developments in London’s land-based casino sector, including Wynn Resorts’ acquisition of Wynn Mayfair earlier this month.

The Mayfair venue, which includes 20 gaming tables and dining areas, marks Wynn’s latest international expansion after withdrawing from the New York casino licence process.

Horizons Casino will reopen to patrons aged 18 and over from Friday 20 June.
