Pennsylvania gaming revenue rises 15.4% in June 2025
Hollywood Casino and Valley Forge lead June performance; online verticals continue upward trend despite modest slot declines.
Key points:
– Total gaming revenue reached $544.7m in June 2025, up 15.4% year-on-year
– iGaming revenue rose 32.3% to $212.6m, with slots up 35.9%
– Sports wagering revenue increased 71.4% year-on-year, led by Valley Forge Casino
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported $544.7m in total gaming revenue for June 2025, marking a 15.4% year-on-year increase across the state’s land-based, online and fantasy gaming sectors.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course led the state’s properties in overall revenue, generating $96.4m – a 30% increase from June 2024.
Valley Forge Casino followed closely, reporting $93.5m, up 46.3%. Both venues saw substantial growth across multiple verticals, including online gaming and sports wagering.
Rivers Casino Philadelphia and Parx Casino also exceeded the $50m threshold, bringing in $53.4m (+12.2%) and $52.5m (+4.4%), respectively.
iGaming and sports betting continue upward trend
iGaming played a key role in the state’s June growth, contributing $212.6m to the monthly total – 32.3% higher.
Of this, iGaming slot revenue was $162.2m, up 35.9%, while iGaming table games produced $47.6m, a 22.1% increase.
iGaming poker accounted for $2.7m, showing 23.2% growth, while fantasy contests added further revenue to the digital total.
Sports wagering also posted significant gains, recording $51.2m in revenue – up 71.4%. Bettors wagered $483.6m during the month, up 4.1%, with $49.2m of sports betting revenue derived from online channels.
Valley Forge Casino led the sports wagering category with $23.2m in revenue on a $164m handle, followed by Hollywood Casino at the Meadows, which posted $14.2m from $132m in wagers.
Retail slot stability and table performance
Despite iGaming gains, retail slot machines continued to generate the highest revenue of any individual gaming type, accounting for $199.3m in June. However, this figure represented a 0.9% decline compared to the previous year.
Retail table games brought in $77.3m, marking a 1.6% increase. These results suggest a modest slowdown in land-based slot engagement while table games retain slight growth momentum.
Video gaming terminals (VGTs) reported $3.4m in revenue, down 2.2%, indicating softness in that specific land-based vertical.
Comparison with past results and the broader market trajectory
The June figures follow a historic May 2025, when Pennsylvania crossed the $600m monthly revenue threshold for the first time, reaching $601.8m – a 15.5% increase.
That month was also driven by strength in iGaming and sports betting, with retail slots bringing in $224.9m and sports wagering revenue climbing to $59.4m.
June’s slight dip from May’s record-setting total reflects a typical seasonal slowdown, though digital channels remained strong. Combined, the data points to a structurally shifting market, with online verticals increasingly central to the state’s revenue base.
With sustained growth across iGaming and digital betting, Pennsylvania remains on track for a potentially record-setting full year, driven by strong operator performance, high consumer engagement and expanding digital infrastructure.
