The Australian casino operator runs Star Sydney in New South Wales, as well as The Star Gold Coast and Treasury Brisbane in Queensland.
Both state governments have announced a significant easing of COVID-19 restrictions, with new cases in the country now mostly limited to those undergoing hotel quarantine.
The decision means Star Sydney will be able to increase its maximum capacity from 1,800 guests to 10,000 guests from 7 December.
It also includes the removal of a 300-guest cap per area, while patrons will now be permitted under the one person per two square metres of floor area rule, which previously stood at one person per four square metres.
Social distancing rules between gaming machines will, however, remain in place.
The Star Gold Coast and Treasury Brisbane, meanwhile, will see the removal of restrictions on the use of gaming tables and slot machines, with the number of people allowed per gaming table increased from four to seven.
Queensland had already adopted the one person per two square metres rule on 1 December. The state also reopened its border to Greater Sydney and Victoria residents on the same date.
“The easing in operating restrictions across all three properties will enable us to welcome back additional employees, as well as an increased number of our members and guests to safe and entertaining environments,” said Star.
