Gaming Realms receives online gaming licence in Michigan
Gaming Realms has announced it has received a provisional online gaming supplier licence from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).
It means the supplier will be able to provide its Slingo Originals game content to licenced online casino operators in the state.
Online gaming is expected to go live in Michigan imminently following state governor Gretchen Whitmer signing online sports betting into law in 2019, with the pandemic thought to have delayed the roll out.
Michigan is the tenth largest state in the US with a population of around 10 million.
Gaming Realms executive chairman Michael Buckley said: “We are delighted to have obtained our provisional online gaming licence in Michigan, which presents a larger player market than New Jersey, where the group operates at present.
“We already have a number of deals signed with operators licenced in Michigan and we are confident that it will be a strong market for us, given the awareness of Slingo as a successful gaming brand.”
The approval sees Gaming Realms expand its offering after forming an agreement with Rush Street Interactive last August to offer its portfolio in Pennsylvania.
While last month, the supplier estimated its revenues will reach £10.7m ($14.6m) for full-year 2020, a 55% rise from 2019.
