World Series of Poker goes live in Pennsylvania

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is now live in Pennsylvania after a successful field trial and approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

The news means poker players in Pennsylvania will be able to play on WSOP.com legally for the first time.

To celebrate the launch, WSOP will be offering special sign-up promotions, bracelet events and weekly tournaments to Pennsylvanian players.

The promotions will also include daily satellites with buy-ins as low as $1, allowing locals the chance to win a seat at the main event in Las Vegas this fall.

Ty Stewart, SVP of the World Series of Poker at Caesars Entertainment, said: “We are thrilled to be opening up WSOP.com to the state of Pennsylvania. The real winners in this expansion are the players who join us at WSOP.com.

“Our team is laser-focused on providing the most value to poker players in the state and are confident in the potential of our online poker product. With our industry-best sign-up promotions and the special bracelet series catered specifically to players in Pennsylvania, we welcome all players, from the casuals to the professionals and everyone in between.”

The move means the Keystone State joins Nevada and New Jersey as states where WSOP.com online poker operates.

In 2020, WSOP online beat a variety of online poker festival records; the domestic series generated prize pools worth over $26m across 31 bracelet events.

An average of $865,000 was generated per tournament, making the event the largest series held in regulated US markets.
