From 10:00am to 1:00pm GMT, the heads of Britain’s top gambling trade association, alongside key industry figures, will convene at the Savoy hotel in London to discuss past and upcoming events.
BGC Chairperson Brigid Simmonds will kick-off the conference with a review of the year, highlighting the Council’s stand-out achievements. The organisation’s Chief Exec Michael Dugher will then lead a discussion, followed by presentations and panels on issues affecting the industry.
Though little has yet been revealed about the event, with registration and further information to come on 15 November, safer gambling is expected by many to feature at the top of this year’s agenda.
While 2020’s meeting gave some attention to the issue, with presentations such as ‘Creating a culture of safer gambling; safeguarding children and young people’, this year’s gathering will likely shine an even brighter spotlight on safer gambling.
On 1 November, Dugher declared it the BGC’s “top priority all year round” while inaugurating Safer Gambling Week in a blog post. He pledged to build on existing efforts to tackle problem gambling.
“This is about building on the two million customers who now use deposit limits, and it is also about making sure that those who need help know where they can get it,” said Dugher at the time.
