UNLV and Entain to offer training program in gaming law and regulation
William S. Boyd School of Law, at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV), has teamed up with Entain to offer a new online training program in gaming law and regulation. The course is priced at $2,500 and starts on 10 January 2022.
The online training program is tailored for operators, regulators, lawyers and others who work in the gaming industry. The courses will be taught by instructors with decades of professional gaming and teaching experience.
In total, the program consists of eight classes designed to prepare professionals to meet all the regulatory and operating challenges they could face in the gaming industry.
Participants are not required to hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree to enrol, neither is a first-degree in law required to practice law in international markets.
Anthony Cabot, a Distinguished Fellow in Gaming and Law serves on the Board of Advisors for the International Center for Gaming Regulations at UNLV, and will be teaching ‘Introduction to Gaming Law and Regulation’.
William Buffalo (Pinnacle Entertainment VP and Legal Counsel), will be teaching ‘Resort Casino Law’. Kathryn Rand (Floyd B Sperry Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Insitute for the Study of Tribal Gaming Law and Policy), and Steve Light (Professor of Political Science and Public Administration), will be co-teaching ‘Introduction to Indian Gaming Law’.
Alan Feldman (Fellow in Responsible Gaming at the International Gaming Institute), and Dayvid Figler (Attorney and National Expert on the intersection of criminal justice and gaming), will both be teaching ‘Player Accountability and Corporate Social Responsibility in Gaming Law’.
Additional courses include ‘Public Policy and Comparative Study of Gaming Laws and Regulations’, and ‘The legal and Operational Environment for Sports Betting’.
The program is designed to be completed over three months and participants will be able to complete 20-25 hours of training with each course via the online portal.
