And although bet365 has Khan down as the 11/8 underdog, presenter Johnny Nelson believes the fight will be much closer. He tells bet365 that the "fight is going to be won in tactics. Khan [has] got to use speed – blistering speed – and keep it in Brook’s face, slinging those shots and dropping them to the body so Kell has to block them. I can’t call this. It’s a 50/50. But we’ll wait and see."
Khan’s speed is no surprise to Brook, though, and he commends his opponent with having "the fastest hands of anyone I’ve been in the ring with." However, Brook feels he can best his rival with superior adaptability. He recalls sparring Khan in his youth, admitting he "came second best with his speed, but I can adapt, and I started timing him and getting my rhythm through and it was a completely different story in the second and third round."
And Khan should take heed of this, according to Brook, and stop being so "deluded." He continued: "He’s got a lot of people who’ll slap him on the back and bull him up [but] he’s in a different world...He’s always thought he was better than everyone, but this is the game we’re in and I want to show the fans that I’m the best.’
Khan vs Brook face off at the Manchester AO Arena on Saturday 19 February.
