The daily event schedule for the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) has been announced, with the tournament moving to its original home on the Las Vegas Strip.

Held every year since 1970, the event has been sponsored by Caesars Entertainment since 2004 and owned by the operator since 2020.

This year’s tournament will commence on 31 May at Bally’s Hotel & Casino (soon to be rebranded as Horseshoe) and Paris Hotel & Casino, running until 20 July. The dual-venue approach will result in the largest tournament capacity in its history, with 600 poker tables and 200,000 square feet of available gaming space.

The tournament had previously been held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino for 17 years, situated a mile or so off the Strip.

Ty Stewart, Executive Director, WSOP, commented: “This year is particularly historic for the WSOP with its move to the heart of the Las Vegas Strip and debut in the best facilities we've ever had.

“We're ready to welcome players from all over the world to our housewarming party at Bally's, soon-to-be Horseshoe, and Paris. The schedule is jam-packed with first-class events and we expect this to be the biggest and most anticipated WSOP yet.”

Noteworthy elements of the tournament include the $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em World Championship, ‘The Housewarming’ opening weekend event with a prize pool of $5m, the $1,000 Buy-In Million Dollar Bounty and the new Tournament of Champions.

The tournament will again partner with CBS Sports to broadcast live footage of the tournament, with a minimum of 18 events televised across the three-week period.

Budding contestants are being advised that, while they do not need to provide their Covid-19 vaccination status to enter, they will be required to comply with local Nevada guidelines.

Entrants can either register online or in-person, with benefits such as discounted rooms at the two resorts on offer, as well as other benefits associated with the Caesars Rewards loyalty scheme.
