Karen Tyrrell has moved from Flutter UK&I, where she most recently served as interim Chief People Officer (CPO), to join XLMedia.

Her latest appointment will continue a nearly 15-year career in gaming, during which she has held multiple senior leadership positions.

Before serving as Flutter UK&I’s CPO, Tyrrell was Managing Director Transformation, a role that came after a decade-long tenure at Sky Betting & Gaming.

There, she served as Managing Director, People & Culture, as well as Director of Enterprise Services and Transition Director, among other roles.

Tyrrell also boasts a lengthy career in hospitality, having worked for Hilton Worldwide for more than seven years.

But regarding her latest move, she said: “I am delighted to join the team and look forward to working with everyone at XLMedia.

“In my career, I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to guide businesses during times of immense growth and industry evolution and I look forward to bringing that experience to the group.”

This comes a few months after XLMedia named ex-BBC Worldwide finance boss David King CEO, who took over from Stuart Simms on 1 July. King welcomed Tyrrell to XLMedia, calling her experience a “critical part” of the company’s growth plans.

He said: “We are delighted to welcome Karen to XLMedia and believe her experience working with high-performing teams will be a critical part of supporting our next phase of growth.”
