The company, which procures chairs for a slew of casino destinations, has expressed its “deep sadness” at the loss of Rizzo, calling him a beloved husband, adored father and pioneer in the casino seating field.
Rizzo was an entrepreneur in the furniture sphere, with an eye for constant development as technology in casino gameplay evolved.
He left the company in the hands of his sons a few years ago, focusing on retirement as he enjoyed a relaxed lifestyle and dedicated more time to his wife Maria and five grandchildren.
Despite his retirement, MGR states Rizzo always kept abreast of company planning and programmatic lines.
With 20 years of experience, Rizzo and MGR contributed to revitalising the casino seating industry. He raised awareness around the importance of chair ergonomics in relation to profits made from slot machines and gaming tables.
Rizzo was known for involving family in his business, growing the company alongside his wife and sons Guido, Giovanni, Giacomo and Giorgio.
First founded in the late 1990s, Rizzo expanded the company into the US over the years, opening a branch in Las Vegas.
MGR has paid tribute to a man who was well recognised and appreciated by all in the company, a man who always gave advice to employees and taught the art of innovation and free thinking while displaying compassion, sensitivity and wisdom.
The company has shared a quote from Rizzo that they feel best captures the memory of Rizzo.
It reads: "Escaping banality, making beauty democratic, rejecting both bourgeois luxury and mass production in harmony with the aesthetics of simplicity."
Everyone at Gambling Insider expresses their condolences at the loss of a pioneer in our industry.
